CHIEF MINISTERS SELF-EMPLOYMENT GENERATION PROGRAMME
Department Of Industries and Commerce, Government of Karnataka has implemented a great self-employment generation scheme called Chief Ministers Self-Employment Generation Programme to provide financial assistance to the rural youths of Karnataka to start their own business enterprise.
The primary objective of this scheme is to provide the financial assistance to youths of Karnataka to generate employment for themselves instead of searching for the jobs.

Chief Minister Self-Employment Generation Program Structure
This is the programme initiated by the chief minister of Karnataka to provide financial assistance/ loan facility and also to provide subsidy up to 3,50,000 to youths of Karnataka to start the business enterprise in Karnataka.

Benefits of Chief Minister Self-Employment Generation Program
- This program provides loan up to maximum of Rs 10,00,000
- Subsidy the beneficiaries
For General Category Applicants subsidy is 25% of the project cost or 2,50,000 whichever is less
For Special category Applicants (SC / ST / OBC /Minorities/Women, Ex-servicemen, Physically handicapped) 35% of the project cost or 3,50,000 whichever is less
That means if any beneficiary takes loan of Rs 10,00,000 while repaying the loan, if he is general category beneficiary he has to repay only 7,50,000 ( 2,50,000 is the subsidy). In case he is Special category beneficiary he has to repay only 6,50,000 ( 3,50,000 is the subsidy)
- Public sector banks and Regional rural banks will give financial assistance under this scheme.

Aspirants has to submit the application through online mode only in the official website.

Eligibility
- Enterprise must be new enterprise
- That Enterprise must be established in rural area
- Enterprise must established in proposed activities only and also
- Applicant should undergo 7 days Entrepreneurship development Program Training

Other Criteria
Under this program, only one application can be submitted from one family. Family means Self and Spouse.
Hence, Rural area means any area classified as Village as per the revenue record of the State, irrespective of the population. It also includes an area which is classified as town and its population does not exceed 20000.

- Polymer and chemical based industry
- Rural engineering and bio technology and
- Service industry
